OrderTHE FACULTY OF SENSING – Thinking With, Through, and by Anton Wilhelm Amo describes the artistic and academic approach to Anton Wilhelm Amo (c. 1700 – after 1753), one of the outstanding philosophers of the early enlightenment of the 18th century. The volume brings together international voices from philosophy, poetry, science, and art, who, on the basis of Amo's writings and their reception, discuss highly topical issues of referentiality, erasure, and canonization.
Part of the exhibition and research project are newly developed works by 16 artistic positions, which were shown at Kunstverein Braunschweig (2020) and SAVVY Contemporary Berlin (2021).
Edited by Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, Jule Hillgärtner and Nele Kaczmarek (Kunstverein Braunschweig 2021).
