In the context of the exhibition THE FACULTY OF SENSING – Thinking With, Through and by Anton Wilhelm Amo a student workshop was held in collaboration with IGS Franzsches Feld and London-based RESOLVE Collective. Here we translated the written theories of 18th century Ghanaian-German philosopher Anton Wilhelm Amo into physical objects that can be interacted with and explored. All of these objects were produced using different techniques to transform recycled and reclaimed materials from around the Braunschweig area. Some of the exercises of this workshop included:

Turning old t-shirts into yarn
Turning plastic bottles into joints
Making sculptures from sand clay
Making bricks from paper and cardboard
