Volker Darnedde
Untitled, 2021
Volker Darnedde's artistic practice moves between drawing painting and text. In his color-intensive works, elements of reality and fantasy merge. Perspective, space and time fall into each other and intertwine to form stubborn visual worlds.
As part of the project Es sollten viele sein und sie müssen nicht zusammenpassen, 2021 he worked together with four other artists for two weeks in a temporary studio in the Remise of the Kunstverein. On site, detailed spatial studies were created with a sharpened eye for architecture and interiors.
The colored drawing, which Volker Darnedde made available to the Kunstverein as a Jahresgabe, shows the artist's view across his studio space from the window of the Remise. With precise lines, he depicts a section of the interior, stretches the space, and breaks down color nuances into individual areas.
