“The editions and multiples create, as it were, a bridge by which the concept of reproduction and its role gain access to all the other medial domains of Kippenberger’s art. As a concept, reproduction always has a double meaning for him: not only the uniqueness and originality of the specific art object are being addressed, but also the general possibility, or impossibility, for an artist to create something out of nothing, to create something new. [...] Whenever everyday objects are used in art, one mostly has the impressionn that they are deposited into an art context. With Kippenberger’s multiples, it frequently happens the other way around - the artist seems to return something to everyday life in a corrected and a more precise form. [...]"
