OrderIn his work, Dennis Siering examines possible and real scenarios for the fundamental transformation of our Earth. In his image research, he uses public archives such as the NASA Image and Video Library and graphically modifies the satellite images he finds there, thereby changing not only the motif but also the definition of the image. What were originally documentary satellite images are transformed into fictional representations in the process. Siering is interested in how natural phenomena can be altered, especially through the influence of humans. The silkscreen print, titled The Great Accelaration (Spiral Study #01), shows a vortex-like force that could destroy everything around it in a very short period of time. This destructive force evokes associations with climatic phenomena and is a reflection of the interplay between nature and culture.
