Artist talk
Marcela Moraga
28.4.: Artist talk with Marcela Moraga, 7 pm
Marcela Moraga lives and works as an artist in Berlin. She studied at the Universidad de Chile, at the HFBK Hamburg and at the UDK Berlin. In her textile projects, drawings, videos and performances, Marcela Moraga explores the tensions of a binary nature/culture order. Using speculative narrative structures, via methods of fiction, through spirituality and indigenous knowledge, Moraga develops new narratives that allow for human-to-human and non-human connections. In addition to her work as an artist, Marcela Moraga carries out art projects with children and young people about ecology and conscious consumption. In 2016, the artist founded the Community Water Museum - Renaico River in Chile together with a group of young activists. Moraga has received several grants from, among others: Villa Romana, Berlin Senate, Goethe Institute, nGbK Berlin and FONDART (Chilean Fund for Art and Culture).
