Wednesday October 13th
Opening: Two half-moons take us to the place we all come from
from 6 p.m. soft opening at the Kunstverein Braunschweig
from 7 p.m. introduction to the project
Two half-moons take us to the place we all come from brings together the work results of a multi-part workshop series by the artist and professor Valentina Karga with the support of the artist Kathrin Hippen and groups from the IGS Franzsches Feld and the painting group of frauen Bunt e.V. The project re-thinks how different communities would like to gather, communicate, work or relax in social spaces. The resulting usable sculptures respond to different architectures, needs and bodies. They will become part of Kunstverein Braunschweig’s infrastructure for events and the art education on the long-run.
This collaboration is part of the project Es sollten viele sein und sie müssen nicht zusammenpassen, 2021, which rethinks the roles of artists, curators, and audiences. It revolves around the question: What can the Kunstverein do for you and your community?
Workshop series VALENTINA KARGA, students of the IGS Franzsches Feld (teacher: Dennis Graef) and the painting group frauen Bunt e.V. (head: Franziska Rutz).
